A Jacksonville native, Mother Carrie graduated from a local high school where she played flute for three years. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science Education from Tennessee State University and a Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of North Florida. Prior to her ordination, she worked for the state of Florida for 38 years. She worked in supervisory and administrative positions in the Agency for Health Care Administration. After her retirement, she answered the call to ordination where she attended Virginia Theological Seminary earning a Master’s degree in Divinity.

She currently serves at the chaplain for the Diocesan Episcopal Church Women and chaplain for the St Teresa of Calcutta Chapter of the Daughters of the King at her church. She is also active as a chaplain in the Cursillo diocesan ministry.

Mother Carrie is a widow after being with her husband Jeff for 44 years. They have two sons, Jeffery and Jason, a daughter-in-law and two grandsons.

She enjoys music, line dancing, reading, teaching scripture and traveling with family and her friends. She also enjoys spending time with her two grandsons.
